Olubanke Olujoke OGUNLANA is a Professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Biochemistry, College of Science and Technology, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, her Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Analysis from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, and her PhD in Biochemistry at Covenant University, Ota. Her research interests are in Molecular Pharmacology, Biochemical Toxicology and Metabolism, Public health and Cancer Molecular Epidemiology. She is a recipient of the prestigious 2009 Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) award. She was also awarded the 2013 AstraZeneca/International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX)/Society of Toxicology (SOT) Travel Fellowship at the 52nd SOT annual general meeting in San Antonio, Texas, USA among others. She is a member of different professional bodies including Faculty Women Advance, Covenant University, Nigeria; Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Nigeria; American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, USA; Society of Toxicology and Women in Toxicology, USA. She has peer-reviewed publications in both local and international journals. She is married to Mr Oluseyi E. Ogunlana and their marriage is blessed with three children. She is passionate about issues relating to the female gender. She is a mentor, positioned to use her narratives and experiences to create pathways for the advancement of women in academia.
